The Donna Tairakena jazz band will be playing at the 'Hamner Jazz and Blues Festival' Sat. 27 February 2010. If you're in the south island at that time, come and check out the band filled with chch's top jazz musos!!

The sweet lady, her flute and her band. Donna plays music influenced by Avishai Cohen, Coltrane, Dave Valentin. It's a mix of jazz, world music, latin and fusion. In 1990, she released her only album of originals with a christian influence. Donna plays locally around our city and area. She is playing in The Hamner Jazz and Blues Festival, 27 February, 2010. So the whole band is rehearsing furiously. "Music is a big part of who I am, " she says.
